Central Zone
With the Central zone we distinguish the departments of Bogotá capital district, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Santander and Meta which lay in the heart of the country. There is a lot to see in these areas; Bogotá the capital of Colombia lies 2600 meters above sea level in the Andes Mountains and is a big and bustling city with plenty to do. In Boyacá you find the charming little town Villa de Leyva with its historical architecture. In Santander you find beautiful landscapes and the adventure capital of the country San Gil. In Meta you will find the biological wonder a river called Caño Cristales “river of five colors"
