Bogotá is the capital city of Colombia and lies on the highest plateau called Gran Sabana in the Colombian Andes and is part of the Cundinamarca department. With approximately 2,600 meters above sea level, this metropolis belongs to one of the highest capital cities in South America.  With its 9 million inhabitants from all parts of Colombia, the city is as diverse as the whole country. In 2010 Bogotá was selected as a “Must See” destination by the renowned newspaper The New York Times. Be surprised by a city that offers a variety of art, culture, recreation, sports and science.
