Today you will head to the Arví eco-tourist Park which is located in the annexed village of Santa Elena, where the visitor can feel the spirit of the Silleteros as these flower growers and participants in the famous flower fair go about their daily lives. Arví lies less than an hour from Medellín and can be reached via a cable car that traverses the foggy woods covering the park. The park is divided into six hubs that teach the visitor the area’s social, cultural, gastronomic, and heritage wealth. This venue offers trails for walking, horseback or bike riding, camping and picnic grounds, as well as canopy and water bikes. You will be fascinated by the town of Santa Fe de Antioquia which was declared a World Heritage Site and whose cobbled streets and beautiful houses with balconies recall the colonial era. Visit the West Bridge, a masterpiece of nineteenth century engineering. The Medellin-City-Tour starts at the Pueblito Paisa, a replica of a historic Paisa village on the Cerro Nutibara. Here you can enjoy a stunning view of the city. Our next destination is the cities historical centre. On the way to it we will stop to watch and listen to the local musicians and the traditional Guasca music while visiting the Parque Berrio in the heart of the historic centre of Medellin. Then we visit the Plaza Botero, which has an extensive exhibition of the famous sculptures of the Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Through the hustle and bustle of downtown Medellin we continue the tour towards to the Parque de Bolivar one of the most beautiful squares of Medellin. Then we will take the “Metro Cable” up to Santo Domingo, which was once a notorious area of gang violence in Medellin. The cable car was constructed to make the inner city more accessible to people on the outskirts, and allows visitors a glimpse into the lives of the marginalized population. While enjoying the spectacular view you learn more about the transformation of Medellin from one of the most dangerous cities in the world into a fascinating melting pot of cultures with one of the friendliest and warmest people in the world. From Santo Domingo station we will enjoy another ride with the cable car up to the nature reserve Parque Arvi nearby the lovely town of Santa Elena – the flower village. The reserve covers 16,000 ha of lush forest and is situated on approximately 2,300m above sea level. Due to its altitude and mild climate it is the perfect area to escape the city and enjoy the landscape consisting of forests and wetlands. We will pick you up at the Parque Arví station and go on with our tour to Santa Elena, which is known as the origin of the famous floral arrangements that have become a cultural symbol of Medellin. These flowers are used in the largest festival in Medellin, the Feria de las Flores (Festival of Flowers). Here we will visit the house of real “silletero” and an organic flower farm to learn more about the traditional flower culture of Santa Elena. La Piedra del Peñol is a huge monolith of 220 meters and once its top is reached, after climbing 702 steps, an incomparable view over Guatapé and the surroundings can be enjoyed.Day Trip 7Following the Tango Trail
