Villa de Leyva

This colonial town is one of the most visited places in Colombia, it is located in the Eastern Cordillera and its average temperature is 18° Celsius (64° Fahrenheit). It was founded in 1572 and its architecture represents the colonial customs in the area. Villa de Leyva is known for its paleontological and archaeological history. Drink a cup of hot chocolate with cheese and try almojabana in one of the cafés at the cobble-stoned main square which is considered as the largest plaza in Colombia. Enjoy the lovely historic atmosphere in this picturesque colonial town.
